Sunshine Coast
Tiffany and I spent the beginning of the week on the lovely Sunshine Coast.
Our first stop was Gibsons, where Norris Oil Sales will accept your used oil! Afterwards we headed North, took another ferry, and found ourselves in Powell River! Powell River was beautiful, and we had excellent weather while we were there. The Canadian Tire in town accepts used oil, filters, containers, and antifreeze!
Tofino and Ucluelet
It was such a gorgeous day when we visited the West Coast of Vancouver Island! Sun was shinning and there were lots of people out surfing enjoying the waves.

Amara at the used oil collection area at the Tofino Harbour.
We did a quick pit stop at Longbeach, wish we could have stayed there all day!
Agassiz
We wrapped up our tour of Whistler and the Fraser Canyon in Agassiz!
Tiffany and I were happy to see that both facilities in town OK Tire and Modern Tire Towing were doing an exceptional job of collecting used oil and antifreeze from the public! The staff at both shops were wonderful and they even took time to take a few pictures of us.
Boston Bar
On Thursday, August 25 Tiffany and I continued our trip in the Fraser Canyon.
Boston Bar has one facility that will accept used oil and antifreeze: The Boston Bar Towing and Mechanical (located on highway 1).
Next stop… Hope and Agassiz!
Lytton
The drive from Lillooet to Lytton was beautiful!

The Fraser and Thompson rivers meet here!
Lytton- Canada’s Hot Spot
Lillooet
Lillooet is a really neat little town. The Fraser River runs through the town which is built on the high ground around the river (it resembles a canyon). Lillooet is considered to be one of the oldest continuously inhabited regions in all of North America!
The town has had many boom and bust periods, especially around its mining history!
City girls on rural BC roads!
Today we had quite the adventure! Early this morning we drove up to Pemberton! What a beautiful little town- we really enjoyed it. Pemberton has 3 facilities that accept used oil and antifreeze:
-AC Petroleum Sales (Esso)
-Olemotive
-Pemberton Transfer Station
Tiffany and my adventure really began after we left Pemberton to drive to Gold Bridge.
Whistler Village
Tiffany and I really enjoyed our time visiting Whistler!

Fred Hinchcliffe Automotive

Carney’s Waste Systems
Just remember to only go during regular business hours! Dropping off materials outside of business hours often leads to environmental contamination. Be responsible!
Ridge Meadows Recycling Society
The Ridge Meadows Recycling Society has been doing a tremendous jobs serving the communities around Maple Ridge. They have been a recycling depot since 1972, and have accepted used oil long before the BCUOMA program began! They also accept metal, appliances, electronics, batteries, paint, household hazardous waste and chemical, florescent light bulbs and tubes….
