Oceanside Overdrive Show & Shine!
We had a wonderful day at the Show & Shine in sunny Parksville! It was an amazing turn out with hundreds of cars and motorcycles entering the show! Tiffany and I gave away lots of oil spouts and ice scrapers for people to store in their glove boxes until winter.
We had a couple of favourite cars in the show, check them out!
I love the Mini Cooper.
This is Tiffany’s pick.
In addition to the car show, Parksville Community Beach has been hosting a sandcastle competition for the last 2 weeks.
Goats on the Roof!
On Thursday Tiffany and I had a very busy day visiting almost 20 return collection facilities in Courtenay, Royston, Bowser, and Coombs!
Here are some of the Courtenay facilities:
Seeco Automotive is a really cool place that’ll take your used oil, filters, containers and antifreeze off your hands!
_This place will also take care of you!
Port Hardy -> Campbell River
Yesterday Tiffany and I arrived in the seaside town of Port Hardy!
In Port Hardy you can bring your used oil, oil filters, and oil containers back to: NAPA-Auto-Parts and E.J.KlassenGM. As well with your used oil materials, you can drop off your used antifreeze and containers at the DaveLandon-Ford during regular business hours!

Valemount & Clearwater
Wow! This region of BC is sure beautiful!!!
While we were in Clearwater, we stopped in at the falls in the Wells Gray Provincial Park!
The Peace Region
We’ve traveled a long distance this week, going through the whole Peace Region!
Check out how many kilometers we have put on our car.
This is the biggest regional district in B.C., covering Dawson Creek, Fort St.
If you want summer come to Dawson Creek?
Tiffany and I have been on the road a lot these past two days. Since Thursday we have drove the entire width of the province and are now in Dawson Creek!
Here’s some photos showing our travels for the last couple of days.
Where to take your used oil & used antifreeze in Smithers:
Canadian Tire
Glacier Toyota
All the highway driving has made the car quite dusty!
The weather has been beautiful today! We left Prince George bright and early, and before 9:00am it was already 15 degrees!
Kitimat & Prince Rupert
Tiffany and I drove down to Kitimat this morning from Terrace to visit the OK Tire that takes back used oil and antifreeze!
Fun Fact: Kititmat means “People of the Snow” and the town was named that because of their exceptionally harsh winters.
Second Fun Fact: Kitimat is one of the newest municipalities in Canada as it came into existence around 1953.
Prince Rupert was our next destination! Where we had a moo velous afternoon…you’ll get the joke in a second.
Houston to Terrace
This morning we visited the lovely town of Houston.
It’s home to the World’s Largest Fly Fishing Rod!
Tiffany casting a line

After stopping in at the 3 return collection facilities, we continued west along highway 16 to Terrace!
West Bound!
This morning before Tiffany and I left Prince George we stopped in to see a couple more facilities. We visited Green for Life (GFL) formerly known as Enviro West, a registered collector and return collection facility!
Tiffany was very excited to see them promptly put up their new sign
We also popped in to see how things were going for the guys at the Vanway Transfer Station.
We spent the weekend in Prince George
It doesn’t seem like it’s July up here as it hasn’t stopped raining for the last few days, and is expected to rain for another week! This has caused abnormally high levels of the Fraser River, which has led to flood warnings for the Peace Region just east of us, as well as highway closures along highway 16. We are keeping a close watch on weather reports and highway closures as we will be travelling the North for the next two and a half weeks.
