An Eventful Weekend!

May 6, 2012

We were lucky enough to have incredible weather today at the DW Poppy High School Car Show! We saw a ton of neat looking cars and got to talk to a lot of people about where they can recycle their used car oil, oil containers, filters and antifreeze products.

Yesterday we attended the Port Moody Fingerling Festival at the Port Moody Recreation Center. We were set up with many other environmental groups to celebrate the release of 40,000 young salmon into Noons Creek! By recycling all your hazardous materials, you can ensure that these little fish get to grow up in a safe and clean environment.

Mr. Oil drop was really happy to join us this weekend and had an awesome time meeting all of the kids at the event. He gave a lot of high fives and even got to dance to some tunes at the DW Poppy Car Show!

Did you know?
In 2011, the BC Used Oil Management Association expanded its collection to include antifreeze and antifreeze materials. Antifreeze is sweet smelling and bright which makes it very attractive to kids, pets and wildlife, so it’s very important to responsibly recycle these materials. Go to www.usedoilrecycling.com to find a Return Collection Facility near you!
