Day 43: Dawson Creek Summer Cruise 2010

July 11, 2010

Today Michelle and I attended the 16th Annual Summer Cruise in Dawson Creek (not Dawson’s Creek as Michelle likes to say – ps she’s a big fan of the tv show). One of the biggest Show and Shines in Northern BC, there were over 200 cars that filled the city blocks surrounding the famous Mile Zero Post (the official start of the Alaska Highway). It was a beautiful day for a car show, with a nice breeze to keep us from over heating! We got to meet people from all over BC and even from Alberta and America. There were some amazing old cars at the show. The Dawson Creek residents we spoke to seemed to be well aware of the program – most people could name a couple of the facilities that accept used oil from the public. For the complete list of facilities you can visit: usedoilrecycling.com.

Here we are at the Mile ‘0’ Post, those clouds definitely disappeared later on in the day!

Everyone loves the activity books – the maze in there is actually really hard.

A highlight for the children driving by Bubbles and Michelle in the mini train.

Tomorrow we’re off to Vanderhoof!
