Day 24: The Ambassador Team Jump for Joy in White Rock
Delta and White Rock were wonderful and although the sun wasn’t shining today, there was a lot of very bright smiling faces waiting to greet us at the local drop off facilities in both cities.
Below you can see us jumping for JOY over USED OIL RECYCLING!
Delta is home to the Vancouver Landfill. Here are some simple instructions to get there from Vancouver:
- Take HWY 99 South over the Oak Street Bridge.
- Continue on HWY 99 through the George Massey Tunnel, then take
- Exit 28 to River Road North. Stay in the left lane to turn left from the exit ramp onto River Road North.
- From River Road, turn right onto 60th Avenue, then follow the green signs to Landfill.
This facility will accept your used oil, oil filter and plastic oil containers as well as all the hazardous materials listed below:
- Lead acid automotive batteries
- Empty propane cylinders
- White goods (ie. large appliances such as fridges, freezers & air conditioners)
- Gypsum drywall*
- Metal
- Corrugated cardboard
- Recyclable old newspapers and office papers; telephone books,
computer paper, white and coloured bond and letterhead
- Rigid plastic containers (any color) marked #1 (PET), #2 (HDPE), #4 (LDPE) and/or #5 (PP)
- Tires (passenger or light truck with or without rims, maximum 10)
