On our travels through Ladysmith today, we stopped at the Peerless Road Drop-Off Depot. We were impressed with the amount of items that people are able to drop-off… totally free of charge! In addition to used motor oil, oil filters and containers, this facility accepts all of the following items:

-used antifreeze
-passenger/light truck tires
-disposable, rechargeable and vehicle batteries
-scrap metal (including appliances, bicycles & BBQ’s)
-yard and garden materials (such as grass, leaves and branches)
-fluorescent tubes/bulbs
-cell phones (plus handset, batteries and chargers)
-household recyclables (ie. clean plastic containers, clean plastic film, tin cans, foil, magazines, mixed paper, boxboard, newspaper, cardboard & glass)
-propane tanks and canisters
-refrigerators/freezers and air conditioners
-clean bulk plastics

You can come recycle any of these items wed-sun from 9am-5pm. If you live closer to Duncan, Bing’s Creek Solid Waste Management Complex also accepts these items (plus residential organics) and operates everyday from 9am-5pm.

For more information or to inquire about other items, you can call the CVRD recycling hotline: 250-746-2540 or visit www.cvrdrecycles.bc.ca

Continuing on our journey north, we also visited Chemanius. Here we checked in with Mural Town Automotive. Not only does this facility accept used oil, but they can also fix missing lug nuts….A big thanks from Bubbles and the Ambassador team!
